Concentrations

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Northeastern University is home to an exciting interdisciplinary graduate program that leads to a Ph.D. in Sociology. The scholarly interests of our faculty are diverse. Ongoing research projects range from quantitative analyses of inter-group attitudes to comparative and historical investigations of regional, national, and globally-based institutional changes. Programmatically, this diversity is organized around four overarching themes that represent key "areas of concentration" within our graduate program: globalization and international studies, urban sociology, sociology of gender, and social justice, conflict, and inequality.
